Stilwell and the American Experience in China – Prologue: The Crisis

The following is an excerpt from Stilwell and the American Experience in China 1911-45 by Barbara W. Tuchman. President Roosevelt insisted on putting an American General, Joseph Stilwell, in command of all China’s armed forces. With such level of abuse by America perpetrated against the Nationalist Government of China, is it any wonder why they switched to the Axis powers during WW-II?
