The Global AI Race – Dietrich describes various strategies countries have for their AI (Artificial Intelligence) research and development. Russia has been focusing on the use of technology for social and psychological manipulation. Russia also believes nano-drones are the future of warfare; once they hijack and empty out your mind, they’ll be sending in nano-drones to kill what’s left of you from the inside out. Putin announced to a group of students that whoever rules Artificial Intelligence will rule the world.
Huawei and Security Risks – Huawei is backed by the Communist Chinese military and could be, and probably already is, used for spying on other countries. Huawei 5G networks are already being used in Europe, including Germany.

We have the president of a New World super power in his office speaking to the British based Economist Magazine in apocalyptic terms declaring that NATO is suffering from brain death, that Europe needs to develop a military force of it’s own. The EU thinks of itself as just a market but it needs to act as a political block with policies on technology, data, and climate change to match. Past French presidents have argued that Europe cannot rely on America and should look to France instead. Macron is not just rehashing this view. He believest that Europe and America have shared interests and has worked tirelessly to keep good relations with president Trump. But he arguest that for the first time, America has a president who does not share our idea of the European project. And even if Trump is not reelected, historical forces are pulling the old allies apart.
Considering the relatively high probability that humans will go extinct, researchers from Oxford surveyed people on how they feel about human extinction. Surprisingly, people responded that they would rather have total human extinction than have only 20 percent of humanity survive. Douglas Dietrich concludes that the inability to imagine a future is detrimental to our ability to have one. This view needs to be taken into account when scientists are trying to inspire the public and policy makers to take action.
“It took a miracle to bring humans into existence and it’s going to take many more miracles to save us from extinction. However, we can never take for granted the Lord’s Divine Mercy. We cannot wait passively to be “saved” by divine intervention. That would be like an aspiring actress or singer sitting around at home waiting to be “discovered”. It’s not going to happen. We have to fight for survival. I learned from Emanuel Swedenborg that Angels are constantly fighting on our behalf in the “Greater Battle” and that Angels never ABANDON humans, humans ABANDON them.
Isn’t it ironic how Evangelical Christians seem to be the most enthusiastic about the end of the world coming, since they believe (or so they are told) that’s when Jesus Christ will return? According to Swedenborg, Jesus Christ already returned. I’ll have to look it up again, but if I remember correctly, it sounded like that event took place on another dimension, like the afterlife; that’s why people don’t know about it. Evangelical Christianity is kind of like a super Jones Town cult… “kill yourself so you can meet your savior! But before you do, convert the whole planet! Then we can all be ‘saved’ when we go extinct!”
