The Problem of Runaway “Technical Debt” That Comes From Previous Generations Not Updating and Maintaining Infrastructure (“Kicking the Can Down the Road”) – PG&E customers can expect rolling blackouts AND higher costs for at least the next decade. The technical debt on US water infrastructure is estimated to be 1 trillion dollars, which could force many families to shut off water and there still won’t be enough money for water suppliers to make repairs. One possible solution would be for the federal government to take over utilities from private corporations.
Carbonism – Trump favors the coal industry despite it’s environmental and economic destruction. His withdrawal from the Paris Agreement is symbolic of his effort to slow the global transition away from carbonism into renewable energy.
